Minimalist Style, Maximalist Fun
Dominika and Radek are a warm-hearted couple surrounded by a close-knit, loving family and friends. Their minimalist, all-white wedding took place at a traditional yet modern wedding venue, Bon Repos Mansion, in the midst of nature. Throughout the wedding preparations, we became friends and had the opportunity to delve deeper into the couple's dreams and visions. Our intensive collaboration lasted a year and a half. During that time, we understood one essential contrast — while the wedding had to be aesthetically refined and muted, the same could not be said for the fun.
Wave Motif, Flowing Through the Wedding
Our first step was to create a design concept doubling as a creative compass for all the elements of the wedding day. Instead of a range of colors, we worked with several carefully chosen shades of white, deepening the sophistication with other nuances such as textures, smoke effects, and various fabric and paper materials. The red thread of the entire minimalist wedding was a wave motif that flowed through the celebrations, ensuring the design concept felt cohesive.
Take our word: minimalism is often more challenging to prepare than opulence. This was confirmed during the installation and transformation of the traditional mansion into a modern wedding venue, which took us two full days. One of our team's heroic efforts was undoubtedly the construction of a large wedding lounge, centered around a custom-made round bar featuring the newlyweds' monogram. White canopies draped from the ceiling, casting flattering, soft white light throughout the tent and creating a romantic, almost dreamy atmosphere. As an interesting counterpoint to the delicate drapes and white lilies, we opted for modern transparent candlesticks and a sleek glass stand for the classic champagne pyramid. Everything had to be absolutely perfect, as minimalism tends to be unforgiving, and any imperfection or mistake would be immediately noticeable against the all-white backdrop.
Simplicity With a Touch of Warmth
However, it was clear that Dominika and Radek's wedding also needed a personal touch. Otherwise, the design concept would have lacked their charm, kindness, and especially their great sense of humor. That's why we sorted through their memories together, both old and recent, and printed them in a beautiful typographic design on napkins, the bar, and the photo wall. The wedding guests greatly appreciated this gesture. It was wonderful to see how the spotless lounge came to life as friends met the bride and groom's family, and everyone shared emotional moments over snapshots, shared memories, and beautiful personal gifts we had prepared for them together with the bride and groom.
For the ceremony itself, we created a striking white runway on the lawn, so Dominika, in her simple white dress, walked down the aisle directly from the mansion. The sophisticated styling complemented her natural beauty and long blonde waves, beautifully illuminated by the late afternoon sun.
After Party, but With a Surprise Finale
Dominika and Radek's wedding had everything: a five-tiered cake that the pastry chef had been working on for an entire week, smiling parents struggling to hold back tears, joyful photos with friends, a beautiful banquet, cheers during the bouquet toss, and a wild evening party with purple light effects that transformed the festive day into a lively night.
However, one moment was truly unforgettable. As a joint surprise from the parents of the bride and groom, the couple's favorite singer, Jakub Děkan, wrote and recorded a personal song for the newlyweds. We played the music video as a final surprise, which neither Dominika nor Radek had any idea about. Witnessing their reaction was the crowning moment of the entire wedding, both minimalist and warm at the same time.
