A Wedding Homecoming
Some life events bring you back home. This happened to Pavla and Martin, who live in Canada but wanted to celebrate their big day surrounded by loved ones in a place deeply connected to their Czech roots.
Both Pavla and Martin are entrepreneurs, incredibly hardworking, and inspiring people who wanted to celebrate not only their love, but also their large international family. From the very beginning, they pampered their dear guests — on the eve of the wedding, we organized a welcome party in the enchanting garden of the Sternberg Palace, where everyone could warm up for the upcoming celebrations in a family atmosphere.
A Movie-Like Arrival of the Bride
On the wedding morning, the bride, along with her Mom and bridesmaids, enjoyed the luxury of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with its lavish service and a stunning view of Prague Castle. However, our wedding took place in the sunlit Baroque setting of Troja Chateau, inspired by the historical Roman villas in a manicured garden.
While the groom and his party arrived in a Lincoln limousine, the bride and her Mom opted for the legendary Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. Pavla appeared by the grand staircase of Troja Chateau in her romantic tulle dress, accompanied by the gentle backdrop of a string quartet. This scene seemed to come straight out of the silver screen.
A Blooming Banquet in the Imperial Hall
There are only a few things we can't reliably predict at a wedding — and one of them is the weather. From the early morning, we were concerned about the cloudy skies, so we made it our mission to plan an alternative indoor wedding celebration that, despite being a backup, would not feel like a compromise. We prepared the château's stables as an alternative venue for the ceremony. Luckily, we didn’t need to use this option, and Pavla and Martin exchanged their vows before a round floral altar in the beautiful outdoor patio, just as they had dreamed. However, thanks to this backup plan, we were able to keep calm, allowing the bride to focus on much more important things than the weather. For instance, on the beautiful candid photos taken in the château's gardens.
When it was time to move to the wedding feast in the Imperial Hall, the entire design concept of the wedding blossomed before the guests' eyes in full splendor. We complemented the château's frescoes with fluffy floral arrangements filled with tea roses, delicate peonies, and ranunculus. The flowers were a sophisticated thread connecting the entire wedding. They were imprinted on the wedding monogram and gold seals on the stationery; they gently touched Pavla’s dress and the wedding cake, which mirrored the bride’s delicate and slender silhouette, arriving at the Imperial Hall to the sound of a fanfare and applause. The romantic touch extended to our wonderful floral dancers, who gracefully enhanced the musical line of the entire elegant wedding. Despite the abundance of flowers and light pastels, the wedding stayed true to the bride's natural elegance and grace.
A Nostalgic After Party
During the opulent feast, we transformed the stables again. This time, the space turned into a cozy lounge for the after party. Due to the size of the space, this task required several truckloads of furniture — but when the wedding guests arrived for the wedding after party, everything was magically in place, and the lounge invited them to relax, chat, and enjoy a drink.
One of the biggest hits of the entire night was the lavish sweet bar with macarons, whipped cream pastries, and tartlets. Notably, there was also a stand offering fruit dumplings (a typical Czech treat) that guests could garnish to their liking. We know well that after roaming the world, the thing you crave the most is grandma’s treats. We wanted to give the newlyweds a nostalgic taste that instantly transported all the guests back to their childhood.
Live music and a fantastic electro-swing DJ set perfectly kicked off the fun, which pulled everyone in. Especially Pavla’s grandfather, a swing master, who deservedly became the star of the entire after party.
